ATLANTIS RISEN
What if Atlantis exists in the archives?
Atlantis Risen uncovers a lost film made by Ken Kesey, the Merry Pranksters and many more radical and free thinkers of the 1960s. Only seen at a few select screenings in 1970, the unearthing of this rare film through a documentary-style epic is the world's first chance to view scenes from the original 1970 film, Atlantis Rising. Filmmaking duo Miles Votek and Caitlin Denny take you on a ride through archival footage, cinema portraits and stop-motion animation to help us all get to the bottom of Atlantis.
Atlantis Risen explores the myth of Atlantis as understood by some of the most radical thinkers and free spirits in America. In addition to creating original animations and interviewing key figures, we have spent the last 5 years digitizing archival footage never before seen. As we come to a completion, we are looking for a financial push to help telecine the final film and release it to a wider audience. Any interest you may have in helping us realize this final step through our upcoming Kickstarted campaign would be most appreciated.
